Alliance Junior Swim Team sessions run every Thursday night at the Grove Wellbeing Centre with the exception of holidays between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
Details of or sessions and times can be found below :


Group 1 - Split into 2 sessions 6:00pm - 6:30pm & 6:30pm - 7:00pm
Introduces the young non swimmer to the water and establishes early floating and breathing practices.
Introduction to submerging whilst building on the non swimmers confidence moving through the water using front and back paddle.


Group 2 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Building on Group 1 improving the front and back strokes, Streamling the body position.
Methods of propulsion.
Introducing Breaststroke kick


Group 3 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Achieving a degree of competence in Front Crawl and Back Crawl.
Introduction to Breaststroke.
Introduction to Butterfly.
Improving on Breathing Techniques.
Introducing different skills such as sculling, swimming underwater.
Introduction to Kick under water from the wall.


Group 4 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Building on previously learnt Breathing Techniques.
Concentration on the technique on all 4 strokes.
Introduction to basic diving.
Introduction to tumble turns.


Group 5 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Further development of more efficient swimming techniques on all 4 strokes.
Preparation for longer distance swimming to increase stamina.
Preparation for swimming lanes.
